Greenhouse Hydroponic System – Bugesera
Developed by TecGrw Limited in collaboration with Plan International and Imbaraga Farmers Organization, this hydroponic greenhouse in Bugesera demonstrates how modern farming can produce more with fewer resources. Designed for year-round production, the system uses less water than conventional farming while creating a controlled growing environment that reduces weather-related risks. The greenhouse is also fully off-grid and powered by solar energy, enabling reliable operation without dependence on external electricity while reducing environmental impact and supporting more sustainable food production. Beyond production, the project gives farmers access to practical training and modern agricultural techniques that support productivity, income generation, and long-term resilience. By combining clean energy, efficient growing systems, and hands-on farmer engagement, the initiative demonstrates how climate-smart agriculture can create scalable opportunities for rural communities.
Rooftop Hydroponic System – Kigali
TecGrw's flagship rooftop hydroponic farm in Kigali transforms underutilized urban space into a productive food-growing system. Built to demonstrate the future of urban agriculture, the project enables fresh crop production using minimal land and efficient water use—all within a controlled environment that supports year-round growing. The initiative highlights how cities can integrate sustainable food production closer to consumers while reducing pressure on traditional farmland and creating more resilient urban ecosystems.
Smart Green House Initiative
tecGrw in collaboration with Imbaraga Farmers association built three green houses in three districts of Rwanda. The initiative has successfully produced a yield of crops 4-5 times more than that of open field farming.
Smart Green House Initiative
tecGrw in partnership with PLAN International built a smart greenhouse in Mahama. This initiative directly supports a community of 22 refugees, aiming to significantly improve their food security through year-round vegetable production, enhance livelihoods via income generation, build valuable skills in controlled environment farming, and promote long-term self-reliance by reducing dependency on food aid.
